Garlic Mustard Research Opportunity

To evaluate the effectiveness of various management methods on garlic mustard when applied at 3 timings in the fall of 2008 and spring of 2009. We have received funding to conduct this work in the eastern district and are hiring an LTE to help us establish and treat the plots this fall and spring. We are looking for sites in the eastern district and extension agents interested in participating in this project.  Since we will have staff to help establish the trials and make the treatments, the expectation for agents involved is to help find the location of the site and estimate the effectiveness of various management methods in May, June and July in the summer of 2009.  We plan on conducting a field day to demonstrate the results as well as write an article in JOE.
